“…at the heart of good teaching there are three components: content, pedagogy and technology, plus the relationship among and between them...” (Koehler & Mishra, 2009).
A person who knows and is aware that he knows, is wise, follow him;A person who knows but is not aware that he knows, remind him;A person who doesn't know and is aware that he doesn't know, teach him;A person who doesn't know and pretends to know, is fool, leave him
Bless me in my undertakings Dear God, grant me victory and I shall shout your blessings for all to hear of your power!

TPACK at Kibasila Secondary School in Tanzania
Science teachers at Kibasila Secondary School in Tanzania had an opportunity to learn the integration of technology pedagogy and content to develop TPACK for their lessons. Teachers participated in a two days workshop on TPACK. They later on participated in design teams (chemistry team, Biology team and Physics team) to design lessons that integrate technology pedagogy and content. The chemistry team designed a lesson on Electrolysis, biology team designed a lesson on first aid provision and the physics team designed a lesson on hookes law of elasticity. If you want to see the animations for the Chemistry and Physics teams you are adviced to download the ppts.
Chemistry Team
Biology Team
The biology team made a video which was integrated into slides; however for logistic reason the slides and video are presented separetely in this blog.
The impact that a given technology can have on students’ learning should be measured by comparing the positive and the negative impact it has on users. If the positives outweigh the negatives, it could – therefore, be a good idea to find effective ways to subdue the negatives and promote the positives. In the same way, if the negatives caused by a given technology outweigh the positives, a possibility to abandon it should be thought of (Kafyulilo, 2012)
Seminars and workshops have been in schools for years; yet teachers have not changed their practices. We need to think for a new professional development program which is school based and authentic. How about design teams?
